How the CAT DEF Delete Emulator Works
Modern Caterpillar Tier 4 Final machines use an electronic aftertreatment system to monitor the SCR system, AdBlue / DEF supply, NOx sensors and related components.
When a supported aftertreatment component fails, the machine can store diagnostic faults and may eventually impose an engine derate or performance restriction.
The CAT DEF Delete Emulator communicates electronically with the machine and emulates supported functions of the original DEF / SCR system. On compatible applications, this allows the machine’s electronic control system to receive the expected information without relying on the faulty supported DEF components.
Depending on the Caterpillar application, supported functions can include faults associated with:

It is not sold as a DPF delete or EGR delete product. The DPF, EGR and SCR/DEF systems perform different functions within the machine’s emissions-control system.
